Companies in the greater Phoenix area have competed for recognition as one of the Best Places to Work in the Valley each year since 2003. Those companies that employ at least 25 employees in the metro Phoenix area (Maricopa and Pinal counties) are invited each year to apply for consideration, but the employees of the company are the ones who provide the data that determines the winners.

Twenty companies have been recognized for their efforts to create high-quality working environments, and have been named the 2003 "Best Companies to Work for in the Valley of the Sun."
